Post-lunch period had Fray and Manders’s partnership as a feature, but marked by a dramatic decline in the scoring rate once Fray reached the nervous 90s. The opener appeared stuck in mud, spending the better part of an hour cautiously creeping toward his ton.
As Fray stagnated, Manders took a more prominent role as the run-getter, marching toward his own half-century.

However, as fate would have it Fray was forced to retire to the players’ tent the next ball, after popping another Douglas delivery off his bat onto his face.
At 176 for two Derrick Brangman replaced Fray at the crease, joining Manders, who soon mananged to achieve his 50 with a pull off Douglas.
Manders’half century came from 76 balls and included four fours. Sensing the need to step up the scoring rate and set a target, Tre Manders paid the price for over-attacking; his attempted slog-sweep of a Douglas delivery resulted in him being trapped lbw for 58, reducing Bay to 199 for three and reintroducing Fray.
The pair added 11 runs before Brangman [21], attempting to flick a full-length ball from Douglas to the leg side missed it completely and was adjudged lbw.
Michael Agard came in at No. 7, and was promptly dropped at cows corner before scoring by Christian Singh, a substitute fielder.
From there Agard and Fray threw caution to the wind, hitting out in search of a score worthy of a declaration, which came at 3.20 pm, with the score 256 for four.
Cleveland now have a minimum of 60 overs to chase 257 for victory.
