Clarien to Implement SafeKey Policy Starting Monday

Clarien Bank announced yesterday that, for their staff and clients’ enhanced safety, SafeKey will be implemented at the bank starting on Monday, November 22.

According to the announcement, clients who are expected to interact with employees with masks on, behind a plexiglass screen and for a shorter period of time (i.e. less than 15 minutes), will not be required to show their SafeKey.

All other clients who enter the premises, however, will be expected to show a valid SafeKey certificate and valid ID.

The bank also recently amended their fees for in-person teller services. In-person withdrawal and deposit at a teller now has a $5 fee, in-person credit card payments also has a $5 fee and cheque cashing for non-Clarien clients has a $50 fee.

To obtain or renew their SafeKey, people can visit gov.bm/safekey and visit clarienbank.com for more information on their policy.
