City of Hamilton Launches City Satisfaction Survey

The City of Hamilton is currently conducting a survey of its residents and ratepayers, including City-based businesses and property owners. This initiative is designed to gather valuable feedback to assess how effectively the City is meeting the needs of those it serves.

Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win free City parking for an entire year, valid at any City of Hamilton car park. The prize is valued at up to $3,500.

The results of the five-minute survey will help identify any areas for improvement, inform future strategic planning, and support data-driven decision-making across a range of services. It is also a key step in ensuring that the voices of City residents and ratepayers are heard.

Jessica Astwood, Director of Marketing and Communications, whose team is leading the initiative said: “This survey is an invaluable tool for gathering objective feedback from the residents, property owners and ratepayers of Hamilton. Their insights will help us refine our strategic initiatives and make more data-driven decisions. The aim is to ensure that our efforts are aligned with the needs and expectations of those we serve, while also recognizing and building on the areas where we are already performing well.

The City has developed two separate surveys: one for residents/property owners and one for businesses. They can be found here:

Residents Survey
Business Survey

Both are being administered by Narrative Research, a trusted local research firm. All responses are anonymous and will be used strictly for research purposes. Outreach includes email invitations, flyers, telephone calls, and digital access via link or QR code.

The survey includes questions on satisfaction with City events, public art, and engagement efforts, as well as the quality of infrastructure and services. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their views on zoning, permitting, business support, cleanliness, safety, and use of public spaces.

The City encourages all eligible residents, businesses, and property owners to take just five minutes to participate. Their input will directly help shape the future of Hamilton.
