City Of Hamilton Christmas Boat Parade Scheduled For December

The City of Hamilton is thrilled to announce that it will be hosting the 2022 City Christmas Boat Parade on Saturday, December 10th after a brief hiatus.

Since 2017, the City has committed to taking over the organization and execution of the official Boat Parade from the Bermuda Boat Parade Charity and is calling on all interested participants to sign up their boats for registration at the following link: Boat Parade Application Form. The registration deadline for participants is November 9th.

The City plans to host the City Christmas Boat Parade on alternate years so as not to conflict with the Corporation of St. George’s Boat Parade.

There will be numerous prizes to be won in the following categories: Best Overall Boat, Best Community Message, Most Original, People’s Choice, Best Traditional Christmas Message, Most Humorous and Children’s Choice.

The City’s Senior Events & Marketing Coordinator Mrs. Tamara Smith said: “We are really excited to be able to bring this much-loved event and family tradition back to the City of Hamilton as part of our Christmas programme of events. To see the harbour lit up with thousands of festive lights is a truly spectacular sight and brings the magic of the holidays to people of all ages.

“We are giving the community plenty of notice this year so that people can get organized with boats, lights and holiday plans, to ensure that this boat parade the biggest and best ever!”

The rain date for the boat parade will be Sunday, December 11th.

Entry into the viewing village (and kidszone!) at No.1 Car Park will be free of charge. There will be a host of delicious food and snack options available for purchase as well as warm beverages to keep you cozy while you watch the boats.
