City Announces Holiday Lighting of the Tree

As the holiday season approaches, the City of Hamilton invites everyone to gather at City Hall on November 29th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm for the annual Rockin’ Around the City Tree event!

This festive tradition features the lighting of the iconic City Hall Christmas Tree. Attendees will enjoy free photo opportunities with Santa Claus himself, marking his first official appearance of the season. A professional photographer will be available to capture these special holiday moments, and attendees can take home a complimentary print as a memorable keepsake.

Come and warm up with complimentary hot chocolate from Ashley’s Lemonade, and experience a lineup of live entertainment and vibrant performances on the lawn that are sure to inspire holiday cheer.

“The lighting of the City Hall Christmas tree has become a beloved tradition, bringing together friends, family, and the community to celebrate the season,” said the City’s SeniorEvents Coordinator, Lorna Hayward. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and feel the magic of the holidays right here in Hamilton.”

The City encourages attendees to make a night of it by enjoying dinner at a City restaurant or kicking off holiday shopping at local retailers before heading over to the event.

In the spirit of giving, guests will also have the opportunity to make on-site donations to the City’s charitable partner, Tomorrow’s Voices – Bermuda Autism Early Intervention Centre, which has been a proud collaborator of the tree lighting ceremony since 2017. Tomorrow’s Voices has provided invaluable support to families and children with autism since 2007, helping subsidize the costs of essential therapy and developmental services.

Stacy Hill, Funding & Development Officer at Tomorrow’s Voices, shared, “Partnering with the City of Hamilton for this cherished annual event allows us to spread awareness about autism within our community and highlight Tomorrow’s Voices’ vital services. We’re grateful to the City for their ongoing support and the chance to be part of this seasonal celebration.”
