Chatterbox Cafe Offering Indian Buffet
Located at the Reid Street entrance to the Washington Mall, Chatterbox Cafe offers all day breakfasts, an Indian buffet, a salad bar and Bermudian cuisine. According to head chef and manager Joseph Fernandez, Chatterbox has a wider selection and a buffet style, which is different from most restaurants on the island. Mr. Fernandez said that the response to the buffet has been very positive so far. They have been around for 23 years, but Mr. Fernandez took over management in 2017.

Some of the dishes offered are butter chicken marsala, curried vegetables, lamb and chicken biryani, coconut chicken and curried goat just to name a few.

Most of the part-time waitresses at the restaurant are students at the Bermuda College who work the morning breakfast shift and go to classes afterwards.

“ Regardless of the economic challenges, we must take a chance to make things better,” Mr. Fernandez said. “ We have taken a chance [with this business] and we hope that things will change soon.”

They are open from 7 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. They offer traditional codfish and potato breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays.
According to Mr. Fernandez, Chatterbox plans to open at night and offer catering services soon as well.
