“Celebrating Community Youth at Butterfield Bermuda Champion”

Dalton Tucker Primary School Students involved in a golf outreach initiative got firsthand experience ‘inside the ropes’ alongside PGA Tour Professionals in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship Pro-Am.

Over the summer Capree Smith and Joel Trott (both 10years old) showed tremendous interest in golf and Kim Swan extended the initiative into summer and continued provided them free private coaching.

Kim Swan shared, “I’m deeply appreciative of the interest shown by Deputy Principal who I kept informed of the students progress over the summer. In addition, both students have a supportive families and are making progress learning the fundamentals of golf. I consider it my duty to give back to the community that lifted me up but witnessing these two students developing a love for golf is special and most gratifying to me.

55 Year Anniversary of Port Royal Swan continued, I owe much to both Port Royal Golf Course and Dalton E. Tucker Primary School, ironically both public entities, who shaped me during my formative years. I am following the example set by the late Walter King, Port Royal’s first golf professional, who was an inspiration for me a many other from the community near Port Royal.
