According to Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) staff officer Scott Quinn, the service dispatch received a call at around 10:20 this morning reporting smoke coming from a two-story structure at West Over Farm in Sandys.
“ We responded [to the incident] with three appliances; two from the Hamilton Station and one from Port Royal with a total of ten firefighters,” Officer Quinn explained. “ When we arrived on the scene, we saw flames of smoke coming from the upper story from both sides of the building.”
Firefighters immediately started working to put the blaze out and began an overhaul around 1 p.m. According to Officer Quinn, the initial cause of the fire is still being investigated. However, no one has been injured in the fire.
The building is currently uninhabitable as a result of the fire.
