All businesses are encouraged to partner with the Department of Workforce Development to support the development of our youth and Bermuda’s workforce by providing summer employment opportunities for students participating in the Youth Employment Programmes.
The Minister of Economy and Labour, Jason Hayward, explained, “Whenever possible, I encourage every business to embrace the opportunity to inspire future generations. Through the Department of Workforce Development’s Youth Employment Programmes, your business can play a pivotal role in equipping Bermudian high school and university students with invaluable on-the-job experience.”
In support of businesses participating in the programmes, DWD will hold two virtual information sessions on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 10 a.m.and 3 p.m., providing employers clarity around:
- The goals and objectives
- Expectations of participating employers
- Supervisor responsibilities and expectations
- Student responsibilities and expectations
