This morning in Magistrate’s Court, 59-year-old Dean O’Brien pleaded guilty to trespassing in a Warwick residence and stealing three different watches, a Xaiomi Note 10 Lite cellphone and a pair of Havainas shoes from the residence, on August 12, 2021. The total estimated value of the stolen items was $7,350.
According to Karen King-Deane, for the Crown, police collected fingerprints from the toilet seat in the residence, which is underneath the bathroom window that Mr. O’Brien used to break into the residence. The fingerprints were later identified as belonging to him and he was arrested on Wednesday October 13 for burglary.
Taking everything into consideration, the Worshipful Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until Tuesday, November 2 at 11:30 am, ordered that a Social Inquiry Report (SIR) and a BARC assessment be conducted on Mr. O’Brien and also ordered that he be remanded in custody until the next mention date.
