Thursday, the aircraft that typically carries British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and members of the British Royal family, commonly referred to as British Airforce One, left Bermuda after making a short pitstop on the island. A couple of fighter jets helped escort it out.
The Honorable Transport Minister Lawrence Scott, JP, MP, confirmed that the flight was making a pit stop and stopped here for refueling, tech support, etc. and said that it was coming from the Nevada-Arizona area and was heading back to the U.K.
“ Bermuda has always had a very strategic location in the Atlantic and I believe that we always will,” Minister Scott said.
He does not see Bermuda hosting a summit between the U.S., Europe and Russia to try and negotiate deals being planned, even though Bermuda has a history of doing something similar in the past.
