Boxers Provide Great Thrill for Crowds Despite Bascome’s Opponent not Arriving on Island

Boxers Provide Great Thrill for Crowds Despite Bascome’s Opponent not Arriving on Island.

After boxer Nikki Bascome’s American opponent last night did not arrive to the island for the Fight Night Championship in Dockyard, it was up to Andre “Showtime” Lambe and Adrian
Roach to bring the action–and they did not disappoint, as both won their matches by technical knockouts over their Jamaican opponents.

Mr. Lambe’s fight with Dwayne Lawrence ended after three rounds, after Mr. Lawrence, in his first-ever professional fight, was knocked to his knees in the first and third rounds, before the referee ended the match. Last night’s win adds to Mr. Lambe’s undefeated professional record
of 5 wins to zero losses, with hopefully many more sweet victories to come.

With Mr. Bascome’s opponent a no-show, Mr. Lambe’s fight became the headline fight for the evening.

20-year-old Mr. Roach defeated Sanju Williams when the referee stopped the fight at the 2:22 mark of the third round.
Local Jaylon Roberts also won against another Jamaican, Trevoy Barritt, after a unanimous decision by the judges.
