Boppy Newborn Loungers Products Recalled

Under the Consumer Protection Act 1999, section 23 (1) a, b, c, Consumer Affairs, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Boppy Company are putting a recall of Boppy Newborn Loungers into effect.

THE RECALL:

The Newborn Loungers were sold at two local stores and online from Pottery Barn Kids, Target, Walmart and Amazon.com, among others. The product is recalled due to infant deaths and suffocation risks.

THE HAZARD:

Infants can suffocate if they roll, move, or are placed on the lounger in a position that obstructs breathing or roll off the lounger onto an external surface such as an adult pillow or soft bedding that obstructs breathing. THE PUBLIC IS ADVISED TO DISCONTINUE THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT IMMEDIATELY.

THE REMEDY:

Consumers who purchased the loungers locally can wait to be contacted by the store for a refund or return it directly to the store. Consumers who purchased the item online or overseas are advised to contact the Boppy Company at www.boppy.com and click on recall to receive a refund or call 800-416-1355 directly.
