Members of the Recruit Course united to walk continuously for 24 hours, demonstrating their commitment to building a stronger, healthier community. Through their collective effort, they successfully managed to raise $2,500 in support of this meaningful cause.
Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Weeks, JP, MP, praised the recruits for their efforts: “I commend the BFRS Recruit Class of 2025 for their incredible dedication.
A BFRS spokesperson added: “This initiative is a powerful example of what the BFRS stands for—service beyond the emergency.
“These recruits have shown that being a firefighter is not just about responding to incidents, but also about making meaningful contributions to the lives of others. Their teamwork and compassion are a credit to the uniform.”
Recruit class spokesperson Fire Officer Tarreko Wilson shared: “The experience was not only rewarding but also deeply moving. We enjoyed every moment spent walking, sharing stories, and honouring those who have battled cancer.
