Bermudian Teen Model Fundraised Over £4,000 and Counting for Sick Kids in Need

Bermudian teenager Ziye Burgess is participating in a modelling competition which was supposed to occur over two years ago, but it had been postponed and continuously pushed back due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

This was not that big of a problem, however, because it gave contestants, including ms. Burgess, an opportunity to raise even more money for the charity of their choice. Ms. Burgess selected a charity which supports sick kids in need.

“ Contestants have until the competition date to raise as much money as we can through basically any method of fundraising,” she said. “ I have been in first place for pretty much the whole time, but the competition has now allowed international models to enter, and I am currently being chased by someone who is about 400 pounds behind me.”

This competition is certainly not the first one that Ms. Burgess has entered. So far, she has participated in Top Model Teen in the U.K., recently placed top 7 for Miss Teen Great Britain and Miss Teen Leicester, and was the runner-up for Teen Model UK in 2018.

As of 9 a.m. this morning, Ms. Burgess has raised over £4,028 from 37 supporters. To vote for and support Ms. Burgess, people can visit justgiving.com/fundraising/ziye-b.
