A Bermudian woman living in England is preparing to represent both her adopted home and her island roots as she competes in the 2026 Miss Leicestershire pageant.
Twenty-five-year-old Anthasia Campbell, who has lived in England since 2013, has been selected as a finalist after impressing judges with a model walk audition—an experience she admits was completely outside of her comfort zone.
“I never thought I’d enter a beauty pageant,” Campbell said. “My mom encouraged me to apply, and when they asked me to send in a model walk video, I was nervous because I don’t wear heels regularly. When they told me I’d been selected as a finalist, I was in complete shock.”
Originally from Bermuda, Campbell says that although she has spent the past 13 years in England, her identity remains firmly rooted in the island where she was born and raised.
“I was born and bred in Bermuda,” she said. “My family is there, I went to school there, and I grew up enjoying Bermuda Day parades, Gombeys and majorettes. Bermuda will always be my heritage.”
Campbell now lives in the English countryside and works as a qualified dispensing assistant at a GP medical practice after recently completing her pharmacy qualification. She credits England with providing opportunities that have helped her grow personally and professionally.
The Miss Leicestershire competition, scheduled for July 12, includes several judged categories, including talent, eco-fashion and charity fundraising.
A longtime cheerleader, Campbell believes her performance gives her a strong chance in the talent competition. She has also created an eco-friendly costume designed to highlight endangered sea life and raise awareness about the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
Outside of the pageant, Campbell is equally committed to giving back. She has already raised more than £340 for charity and is organizing additional fundraising efforts, including a workplace cake sale. Later this year, she plans to run her first half marathon in support of another charitable cause.
If she wins the Miss Leicestershire title, Anthasia Campbell says she will proudly represent Bermuda every step of the way.
“Even though I’ve lived in England for 13 years, I will always say I’m Bermudian,” she said.
Campbell is also asking the Bermuda public to help her secure the pageant’s People’s Choice Award. Online voting opens Sunday, and supporters can vote once every 24 hours throughout the competition.

With the finals just days away, Campbell hopes Bermudians around the world will rally behind her as she looks to bring home the Miss Leicestershire crown and continue showcasing Bermuda on the international stage.
