The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) today introduced the new look men’s national team coaching staff to the public.
BFA technical director Maurice Lowe formerly unveiled Canadian Michael Findley as the new man in charge of leading Bermuda towards hopeful success on the international stage
Finley was flanked by his Bermudian assistant coaches Kenny Thompson and John Barry Nusum during the press conference.
Finley thanked the BFA president Mark Wade and his board of directors for choosing him as the leader for the immediate future.
“I’m thankful for them welcoming me, but also for entrusting me with the senior men’s national ,” said Findley. “I I think it’s a very positive, exciting time for CONCACAF. “I think it’s a very great opportunity for us to do something different.
“It’s been a pleasure so far. Certainly Maurice has been my eyes and ears in the early days, which has been an incredible help and I’m very lucky and very honored to be joined by Kenny and my JB.
“I think it’s a very important part of my remit with the Bermuda Football Association to not just be here to develop our team to the levels of success we wanted to be, but to also develop our staff.”
Findley takes over the position formerly held by Kyle Lightbourne, who successfully guided Bermuda to the Gold Cup finals in 2019, but did not have his contract renewed after it expired earlier this year.
The coach will have a task in developing a young team that is clearly in a rebuilding phase, I’ll be with veterans of the likes of Nahki Wells, who has hinted at possible retirement from the international stage.
