BermudAir Services Disrupted After Staff Denied Airport Access

BREAKING NEWS

Monday, August 4, 2025 — LF Wade International Airport, Bermuda

A disruption unfolded early this morning at LF Wade International Airport as BermudAir staff were denied access to airport facilities.

According to sources, Skyport, the airport’s commercial management entity, revoked and blocked airport access to BermudAir employees without prior notice. As a result of the interference, airline personnel were prevented from performing their daily duties, subsequently leaving a number of travellers inconvenienced.

Passengers scheduled to depart early this morning—including many visitors who had travelled to Bermuda for the Cup Match holiday weekend—were unable to complete check-in with Menzies agents, a service provider employed by Skyport.

The delays experienced, unfortunately, sparked confusion and concern, especially among international travellers with connecting flights or urgent travel plans. The reason for the restricted access remains unclear at this time.

A BermudAir spokesperson stated, “BermudAir remains committed to servicing our customers and the Bermuda community. We are actively working to restore access for our staff and resume normal services as quickly as possible. BermudAir deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to our passengers today and appreciates your patience and understanding as we address this matter.”

Efforts are underway to contact relevant authorities at Skyport and Aecon to determine the cause and timeline for resolution.

TNN News understands all passengers departed Bermuda.

As the situation continues to develop, travelers are urged to check directly with BermudAir for updated information regarding their flights.
