BermudAir Joins TSA PreCheck® Programme, Further Enhancing Service to Travellers

BermudAir announced today that it has met all requirements with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to participate in the TSA PreCheck for its network of routes between Bermuda and the U.S. With immediate effect, guests flying on BermudAir with eligible TSA PreCheck programme memberships will be able to enjoy streamlined security checks prior to boarding, whether in Baltimore, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, or Westchester, New York.

“We’re very pleased to facilitate this added element of efficiency and service to our guests, wherever they’re flying from across our routes,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir. We want to ensure a consistent level of service in this regard. It will help people save time, and also complements the quality service that’s core to everything BermudAir does.”

Travellers with TSA PreCheck status are able to go through security without having to remove their shoes, belts or light jackets. Electronics such as laptops and qualifying 3-1-1 liquids can also stay in their bags.

Travellers who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and U.S. lawful permanent residents can apply for TSA PreCheck at a low cost for a five-year membership. Persons who are eligible for TSA PreCheck security screening also include those with membership in specific traveller programmes recognised by the TSA for travel within or to the U.S., such as Global Entry.

Existing TSA PreCheck members may renew up to six months before their membership expires. Renewal may be completed online for a small fee which lasts an additional 5 years. When new applicants are approved, they receive a unique “Known Traveler Number” (KTN) that, when added to an airline reservation, adds the TSA PreCheck indicator to their BermudAir boarding pass, making them eligible to use TSA PreCheck lanes at airport security checkpoints.

Children 12 and under can join an enrolled parent/guardian when traveling together, and
children 13 – 17 can join a parent/guardian KTN holder in the TSA PreCheck lane if on the same
reservation and the TSA PreCheck indicator appears on their boarding pass. Enrolled airline
passengers should look for the TSA Pre✓® indicator on their boarding pass to show they are eligible for TSA PreCheck screening before their flight.

“We’re delighted that BermudAir has joined the TSA PreCheck network,” said Mr. Scott. “Our team has enjoyed working with officials at the TSA to establish our participation, and we now look forward to welcoming all guests who can benefit from TSA PreCheck.”
