BermudAir is proud to announce a meaningful milestone in its continued growth and development, celebrating the successful promotion of two pilots — Emilly Silva and Henrique Mattos—to the role of Captain through the airline’s internal command upgrade program, as well as the advancement of Bermudian team members Hannah Eggen and Neshae Scott to Senior Cabin Crew.
These promotions reflect BermudAir’s commitment to nurturing talent from within and creating clear pathways for career progression across its flight operations and cabin crew teams.
Captain Thays Emilly Silva is the first pilot to complete the command upgrade process at BermudAir, marking a significant achievement not only in her own career but also in the development of the airline’s internal training and leadership pipeline. Ms Silva, a Brazilian native, joined the BermudAir team in May 2023, becoming the airline’s first pilot hire. She gained her pilot license in Brazil and an ATPL – Airline Transport Pilot License in Florida shortly after. Continuing the flight journey, Ms Silva flew commercial planes for Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, an airline based in Campinas, São Paulo, for six years.
In addition, Captain Henrique Mattos also completed his upgrade, becoming the second pilot to rise to Captain through the program. Mr Mattos, also a Brazilian native, has nearly 30 years of experience, having piloted and reached First Captain commercially with Latam Airlines Brazil. He joined the BermudAir team in July 2023.
“These upgrades are meaningful on many levels,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir. “They reflect the strength of our training program and the high calibre of professionals within our team. Most importantly, they represent the growth of BermudAir as an airline and the leadership culture we’re committed to building.”
The command upgrade program is part of BermudAir’s long-term strategy to invest in people, elevate local and internal talent, and to establish a sustainable path for professional advancement within the airline.
In keeping with this commitment, BermudAir is also delighted to announce the promotion of two Bermudian team members, Ms Hannah Eggen and Ms Neshae Scott, to the position of Senior Cabin Crew.
Both joined the airline during its inaugural year in 2023 and officially graduated from training in summer 2024. Since then, they have played an essential role in delivering the warm, thoughtful service that defines the BermudAir experience.
Their recent promotions highlight the airline’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful career opportunities for Bermudians and inspiring local interest in the aviation industry.“Hannah and Neshae have shown exceptional dedication, professionalism and leadership from the very beginning,” continued Mr Scott. “They’ve grown with the airline and now take on well- deserved Senior Cabin Crew roles that reflect both their individual accomplishments and our belief in investing in Bermudian talent.”
As Senior Cabin Crew, Ms Egan and Ms Scott will take on greater responsibilities in areas such as onboard safety leadership, inflight service standards, and mentoring newer team members.
BermudAir is passionate about building a team that represents the best of Bermuda. Witnessing Ms Egan and Ms Scott’s step into senior roles is a proud moment for the team and a clear example of the growth and development that’s possible within the island’s aviation industry.
As Bermuda’s flagship airline, BermudAir continues to grow its team and operations with a focus on exceptional service, operational excellence, and opportunities for advancement across all departments.
BermudAir continues to welcome applications from Bermudians interested in pursuing careers across all areas of the business, with a focus on long-term growth and development. For those
