Bermuda Welcomes Celebrity Guests for Golf, Culture, and Hospitality

Bermuda was graced this week by the presence of international stars, including R&B and hip-hop legend Ja Rule and recently retired NFL cornerback Patrick Peterson, who arrived on the island with a group of friends to experience the beauty and luxury of Bermuda’s world-class golf courses.

The visit, orchestrated through a collaborative effort supported by the Bermuda Tourism Authority and led by Chris Crumplin, offered the celebrity guests an immersive experience of the island’s charm, from plush greens to signature hospitality.

The group is part of the Go Games Golf Club, a social network of friends who travel together to enjoy golf and camaraderie across scenic destinations. Their Bermuda visit was no different — a trip filled with laughter, lush landscapes, and unforgettable local encounters.

Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, the Honorable Owen Darrell, along with the Premier, had the opportunity to welcome the group personally during a reception held in their honor.

Speaking about the experience, Minister Darrell shared:

“It was an effort put forth by a few great organizers, and credit goes to the Bermuda Tourism Authority, especially Chris Crumplin, who took the lead. These types of visits — much like the golf trips we see Bermudian men take or the spa retreats our women enjoy — have grown in popularity, especially post-COVID. It’s about finding a location, gathering good friends, and enjoying quality time together.”

“It was a pleasure meeting Ja Rule — he joked about how many of his songs got me through late study nights in college,” Minister Darrell added with a smile. “And it was great to see Patrick Peterson here as well, who many know from his years with the Arizona Cardinals. The rest of the group were just friends enjoying each other and the island.”

The visit left a strong impression on the guests, with some expressing interest in returning for Bermuda’s famous Cup Match and further exploration of the island’s offerings.

“That’s what these visits are all about,” Minister Darrell said. “It’s about giving people the chance to truly experience Bermuda’s hospitality — the warmth of our people, the beauty of our shores — and encouraging them to return again and again.”

Bermuda continues to shine as a destination not just for its beaches, but for unforgettable experiences that blend culture, sport, and a welcoming community.
