Bermuda Toastmasters Club and the On The Rock Toastmasters Club invites residents to a joint Open House to meet members and hear special Guest Speaker, Carla Garvey McBlair, Division K Director of Toastmasters International talk about the importance of communication skills for today’s professional.
These Toastmasters’ clubs provide a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” says Nkenge Warren-Swan, Club President for the two clubs in the island. “
After hearing from special guest speaker, Garvey-McBlair, members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include preparedspeeches, Table Topics™ (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.
Table Topics Master DTM Terrilynn Richards who has served in various club positions, will be the Table Topics master. “Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says TM Terrilynn. “This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps youthink and speak clearly on your feet.”
Other speakers include DTM Corville Hylton, Vice President Membership of Bermuda Toastmasters Club; Nkenge Warren-Swan of On the Rock Toastmasters Club.
