The Bermuda to Jamaica Relief Effort, coordinated by a coalition of community partners at the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church, is now in full operation. Volunteers have been working around the clock to collect, sort, and prepare supplies for shipment to communities in Jamaica devastated by the recent hurricane.
The response from the public has been overwhelming, and the organizing team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated so far. However, we have reached our critical limit for clothing and bottled water no additional donations of these items can be accepted at this time.
The relief team is now urgently requesting priority supplies in the following categories:
• Toiletries and hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, feminine products, etc.)
• Medical and first-aid supplies
• Baby essentials (diapers, wipes, formula, bottles)
• Camping and power supplies (flashlights, batteries, solar lamps)
• Non-perishable food items and canned goods
• Cleaning supplies and household tools
“It’s important that we focus on what’s most needed right now,” said a spokesperson for the relief effort. “The goal is to ensure every pound of cargo that leaves Bermuda meets a direct and immediate need on the ground in Jamaica.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church where volunteers are on-site to receive, sort, and pack items for transport.
Further information and coordination are being managed by The Pristine Group in partnership with BermudAir, the Jamaican Association of Bermuda, and community stakeholders.
