Bermuda Through to Final Round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers

Bermuda’s Under-17 Women’s National Team has defied the odds and secured a place in the final round of the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers. Following a heartbreaking defeat in stoppage time yesterday, the team’s fortunes have dramatically turned.

Despite finishing second in Group A, Bermuda’s fate rested on the results of other group matches. They needed to secure one of the two best second-place records to advance. The tension mounted as the team waited for the other groups to conclude their matches.

Ultimately, results went Bermuda’s way. Trinidad & Tobago, who finished second in Group B, ended with 6 points and a goal difference of +6. Bermuda also finished with 6 points but had a goal difference of +5. This proved enough, as several regional powerhouses, including Cuba, Guatemala, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, all missed out on qualification after also finishing second in their respective groups.

Bermuda and Trinidad & Tobago will now join the eight group winners – Puerto Rico, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica – in the final round of qualifying.
