Bermuda – Four weeks after the tragic shooting at Legends Bar that left two people dead and three others injured, the island is once again grappling with a troubling string of deaths—some suspicious, others unexplained—raising urgent questions about public safety, mental health, and community resilience.
Police continue their search for a fourth individual believed to have sustained a gunshot wound during the Legends Bar shooting. Despite multiple leads, that person remains unaccounted for, and no other major arrests have been confirmed in relation to the double homicide.
As the community continues to reel from that violence, yet another disturbing discovery was made this week. The body of a man found at Lagoon Park has now been identified as Norman “Sonny” Bell. Police confirmed in a media release that the death is being treated as suspicious, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation.
In addition, TNN understands that a 51-year-old man passed away suddenly yesterday under circumstances that have not been fully clarified. Family members took to social media to mourn his passing, though whether the death was due to a medical condition or other factors has yet to be confirmed. Queries have been submitted to police regarding the incident, but no official statement has been released as of press time.
This follows yet another disturbing incident last week, when a man was discovered in a Devonshire apartment lying at the foot of his steps in a pool of blood. Details on this case remain scarce, but TNN has again reached out to the Bermuda Police Service for clarification.
With three deaths—two under active investigation—in less than a week, and lingering trauma from the Legends Bar shooting, residents are beginning to ask a painful but necessary question: What is really going on in Bermuda?
Attempts to speak with religious leaders and mental health professionals are ongoing, as communities across the island search for answers and comfort in the face of mounting grief.
In the absence of clarity, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: Bermuda is facing a crisis that cannot be ignored—one that demands coordinated action, transparency from authorities, and, above all, unity from the community.
