With the 2021-22 school year commencing on Thursday September 9 for public schools, Bermuda Institute in Southampton started its year today ( August 23). TNN’s Trevor Lindsay caught up with deputy principal Owen Simons this morning.

“ There is a little anxiety [due to the new term,], but we’re good, excited about the new school year and we’re ready for our students,” Mr. Simons said. “ This year, we hope that our students will gain deeper knowledge of Jesus Christ; we want to up the ante on our sports program and also emphasize excellence in academics.”

According to him, the fact that Bermuda Institute is Christ-focused makes it stand out from other schools on the island. He believes that when people put Christ first, everything else will naturally fall into place.

The new P1 class has about 25 students, and the entire school has around 270 students. Our doors are open to all if your looking to enroll your child look us up it’s not to late.
