Bermuda rang in the dawn of 2026 with vibrant New Year celebrations that lit up the island from east to west. In the historic town of St. George, thousands gathered in the square as the iconic onion drop marked the final seconds of 2025, ushering in the new year amid cheers, music, and celebration.
Clear skies provided the perfect backdrop for a dazzling display, complemented by a drone-style light show that illuminated the night above St. George. The festivities extended beyond the east, as celebrations also filled the streets of Hamilton, where partygoers moved between various establishments, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere well into the early hours of the morning.
Police maintained a visible presence throughout the celebrations. Authorities confirmed that two individuals were arrested for possession of bladed articles, and tickets were issued as part of routine enforcement to ensure public safety during the island-wide festivities.
Despite these incidents, the overall mood across Bermuda was one of joy, unity, and optimism as residents and visitors alike welcomed the beginning of a new year.
