Bermuda and Bahamas Leaders Meet at Cabinet

Earlier yesterday, Premier, the Hon. David Burt and members of Cabinet met with the Prime Minister of Bahamas, the Hon. Philip Davis and members of his Cabinet as part of the Bahamian delegation’s visit to Bermuda.

Cabinet Ministers, the Hon. Walter Roban, the Hon. David Burch and the Hon. Lawrence Scott exchanged ideas on transport, affordable housing, climate change, CARICOM representation and the Fintech industry with Bahamian Ministers, the Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis, Minister of Transport & Housing; the Hon. Myles LaRoda, Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Hon. Frederick A. Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service. The meeting participants included Parliamentarian Chris Famous and the former Bahamian Prime Minister, the Hon. Perry Christie.

Premier Burt noted the long and historical friendship between the Bahamas Government and the Progressive Liberal Party. Next year, the Bahamas will celebrate 50 years as a sovereign nation.

Prime Minister Davis was the guest speaker at the opening night of PLP’s 57th Annual Delegates Conference.
