The Bermuda Alumnae Chapter (BAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is excited to announce the return of its Annual Children’s Reading Festival (CRF) on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Victoria Park in Hamilton, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This year’s theme, “The Next Chapter,” emphasizes that the Children’s Reading Festival is more than free books—it’s about giving parents and families access to a wide range of literacy resources that support and encourage reading at home.
The Festival is designed to promote a lifelong love of reading among Bermuda’s children. Every child in attendance—from birth to age 14—will receive a free book to take home.
Parents can engage with local organizations and experts who will share tools, information, and strategies to help children grow as confident readers and learners.
Children will have the opportunity to hear Bermudian authors and local celebrities share their favourite children’s stories in the Reading Pavilion. The Bermuda National Youth Library, The Reading Clinic, Speech and Language Services, and a host of other community partners will be on hand to provide valuable literacy support and resources.
Families can also enjoy creative arts stations, fun activities, face painting, and more in a festive, family-friendly environment.
“The Next Chapter represents our continued commitment to investing in the future of Bermuda’s youth,” said Shawnette Smith, President of the Bermuda Alumnae Chapter. “By connecting families with literacy tools and resources, and by making reading an engaging, joyful experience, we hope to inspire a new generation of readers and thinkers ready to write their own stories.”
The Children’s Reading Festival remains a highlight of the Bermuda Alumnae Chapter’s community outreach, blending education, fun, and empowerment for children and families across the island.
