BELCO power outages caused by Hurricane Ernesto

BELCO Notice: As of 8:20am Hurricane Ernesto has caused approx. 75% of our customers to lose power and has damaged some of our overhead infrastructure. At this time, please remember the following:

– Only call 955 in an emergency such as a pole fire
– Always assume a downed wire is live. Never approach a downed wire, try to move it or touch it.

– As soon as the storm conditions have subsided, and it is safe to move about, BELCO crews will conduct damage assessments, report findings and begin the restoration process.

We urge all residents to stay off of the roads to allow the restoration teams, inclusive of Works & Engineering, Parks, the Regiment, BELCO and other utilities to clear debris from the roads and get the island back up and running safely and quickly.
