BELCO Hosts Successful Apprenticeship Programme Open House

BELCO Managing Director of Bulk Generation Nadir Wade said “Bermuda Electric Light CompanyLimited (BELCO) hosted a successful Apprenticeship Programme Open House on Tuesday, October 8th with more than 100 attendees.

The open house provided an information sharing session where anyone interested in applying for the programme could learn more about how to apply, the roles they can fill and an opportunity to ask any questions they may have had.

Mr. Wade said: “We had a great turn out for the Open House and there was a lot of interest in the programme. If there were people who were unable to attend, I encourage them to visit our website at belco.bm to view a recording of the Open House so they can learn about the programme and how to apply.”

The four-year programme offers successful applicants the opportunity to earn while training towards a successful and rewarding career blendingtechnical training and academic study. Work-based learning helps apprentices kickstart their careers in Bermuda’s evolving energy industry.The deadline for applications is Friday, October 18th.

Mr. Wade said: Many of BELCO’s current employees are graduates of our Apprenticeship Programme which has been empowering young Bermudians with rewarding careers at our Company for decades. We are committed to in investing in our future and providing hands-on training with apprenticesearning while they learn. Ensuring we have a highly educated and skilled workforce is essential in our commitment to building a sustainable energy future for Bermuda.”
