Bad Weather Postpond C.O.H.Christmas Boat Parade Until Sunday

High winds forecast for Saturday night Dec 10th, the City of Hamilton advises the public that the City Christmas Boat Parade will now take place on Sunday evening Dec 11th.

A spokesperson for C.O.H. said, “Gusts upwards of 40 knots are anticipated and as a measure of precaution for both spectators and the participating boats, the wise decision has been made to push the event by one day to its scheduled rain date of Sunday, December 11th.”

Director of Marketing and Communications, Jessica Astwood, said of the schedule change, “While we are disappointed that we have to move the parade, the City can promise that the event on Sunday will still have a full complement of boats, activities and excitement, including fireworks.

We want our spectating public as well as the parade participants to enjoy the festivities without having to endure inclement and potentially unsafe conditions.”

“The City reminds the public that all scheduled closures and marine notices will now take place on Sunday, December 11th for the event. This includes the closure of Number One and Number Five Car Parks to allow for set-up and viewing of the event, reducing Harbour Road to One-way traffic and marine closures as published by respective Bermuda Government departments.”
