Multiple flights were diverted, canceled or delayed today after inclement weather and poor visibility over Bermuda caused inbound flight disruption at LF. Wade International Airport.
Bermudians on board sereveral flights coming to Bermuda today spoke to TNN News indicating an Americans Airline pilot on the Philadelphia flight this morning told passengers the ILS Landing equipment at air traffic control was having challenges which made it difficult for airplanes to land. The flight returned to Philadelphia.
Another Bermudian traveling out of Boston stated her JetBlue flight on final approach circled Bermuda over ten times but couldn’t land, and her flight was diverted to JFK, International Airpirt, with the possibly of returning back to Boston.
A spokeswoman from Skyport told TNN News Today’s Inclement weather and poor visibility conditions have resulted in visibility levels falling below the minimum requirements for landing at LF Wade International Airport. Several flights have been either delayed, diverted, or altogether canceled.
TNN has received word that flights are landing late this afternoon / evening as Air Canada landed without incident.
