This evening (Jan. 22) Bermuda’s Governor Designate, Mr. Andrew Murdoch arrived in Bermuda.
He was officially met on the L.F. Wade International Airport tarmac by the Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, Acting Governor Tom Oppenheim, Chief Justice Larry Mussenden, Secretary to the Cabinet Marc Telemaque, Opposition Leader Jarion Richardson, the Police Commissioner, the Commander of the Royal Bermuda Regiment, and the President of Skyport.
Tomorrow (January 23), at 11.30 a.m., Bermuda will mark the Swearing-In of His Excellency (HE), the Governor, Mr. Andrew Murdoch, on the Cabinet Office Lawn.
Participating in the ceremony will be the Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP as well as other dignitaries.
The Royal Bermuda Regiment Guard of Honour and Royal Bermuda Regiment Band and Drum Corps will also be part of tomorrow’s ceremony.
The public is advised that traffic restrictions will be in place along Front Street during the parade activities, so motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes into Hamilton tomorrow morning.
Members of the public can watch live coverage of the Swearing In of His Excellency the Governor Andrew Murdoch starting at 11:05 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, via the Bermuda Government’s FaceBook page and YouTube (CITV) channel.
In the event of inclement weather, the formal ceremony will occur within the Cabinet Office Building.
