ARMED ROBBERY AT TENNIS STADIUM PARKING LOT

Word coming in to TNN regarding an apparent firearms incident having occurred on Friday, November 4 in the vicinity of the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium in Pembroke.

It is asserted that two individuals rode into the area of the parking lot, while suspiciously clad with dark helmet visors, gloves and plastic bags covering their shoes and proceeded to approach an individual, who was getting into a car.

According a female eyewitness, the pair produced what appeared to be a firearm, before assaulting and/or robbing the person.

The victim was then seen to flee towards Bernard’s Park, where local sports club North Village utilises for events, while the two individuals made good their escape.

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS), when contacted, confirmed the incident.

“The Bermuda Police Service can confirm it is aware of this incident,” was the BPS response. “An investigation into the matter has begun.

“No further information will be provided at this time.”
