Arizona man charged with bringing $1 million worth of drugs

A man from the US state of Arizona was on Friday charged in Magistrates Court with importng into Bermuda more than $1 million worth of drugs into the island.

60-year-old Christopher McIver is accused of importing cannabis, heroin, cocaine and THC and possessing the drugs in St George’s with intent to supply.

The charges stem from an alleged discovery of the estimated $1,213, 856 worth of drugs, together with McIver on November 9, 2022n St George’s.
The case is indictable and has been referred to the Supreme Court, with McIver being set down for mention at the June 1 arraignments.

McIver was released on $75,000 bail, with orders to surrender all travel documents and to visit Hamilton Police Station three times a week
