All BHB Staff Treated to Pre-CupMatch Extravaganza

To thank their employees for all of their hard work, particularly within the past year and a half during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) hosted a pre-CupMatch extravaganza for all staff this afternoon.

“ CupMatch is [at] the bedrock of Bermuda’s culture and tradition, and we at BHB are trying to get staff in the groove [of the holiday],” BHB Deputy CEO Scott Pearman said.

“ Our employees have been frontline and holding it down [since the start of the pandemic], and even though we are not home free yet, we have to celebrate; celebrate life and the fantastic work of our staff.”

Mr. Pearman hopes that other businesses will give back to their staff by hosting similar events to this one and really get into the spirit of the holiday and of summer.

“Our staff really know the economic stress that the hospital is under right now and recognize that this gesture may be a small thing, but it is a way of giving back . . . letting them have some freebies, meet up with friends and the like,” he said.

Staff members supported both teams at the event, but Somerset had a few more supporters.
