Freisenbruch Insurance Services Ltd. is proud to announce the official launch of BerMedica, a purpose-built medical malpractice insurance product specifically developed for healthcare professionals practicing in Bermuda.
BerMedica has been in development for over a year, following a request from the Bermuda Hospitals Board to explore a more affordable and tailored option for practitioners. It also responds to a well-recognised need for greater clarity, consistency, and support in Medical Malpractice coverage, particularly for those delivering essential, emergency, and life-preserving care. BerMedica offers clearly defined, contract-based protection that reflects the unique challenges faced by medical professionals in Bermuda.
The product was officially unveiled at a well-attended launch event on July 24, 2025, at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, where healthcare leaders, stakeholders, and members of the medical community gathered to learn more about the policy, its scope, and the vision behind its creation.
“BerMedica was developed to address long-standing concerns with a bespoke solution that offers broader definitions of cover,” said Marie Voysey Moss, Vice President, Corporate Insurance at Freisenbruch. “We are proud to introduce an affordable, transparent policy that gives Bermuda’s healthcare professionals the confidence and clarity they deserve, especially when responding to critical care needs.”
While developed independently of the hospital, the product reflects a deep understanding of the clinical realities at KEMH and was designed as a forward-looking risk management solution for Bermuda’s healthcare sector.
