A Good Friday of Sorrow and Reflection

As Christians around the world observed Good Friday, the solemn day marking the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Lister family found themselves in deep mourning. The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Dennis Lister, took to social media to share heartfelt thanks with the public following the passing of his beloved wife, Miranda Lister (née Showers), who was called home to glory.

In his post, Mr. Lister expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of love, condolences, and support from members of the public, his church family, and friends. Below is the complete social media post Mr. Lister sent to his contacts.

Good Evening, “As we celebrated today as the day Our Lord died on this earth. He chose to give my wife that eternal Rest today. I wish to thank each of you for your Prayers and support for us throughout Miranda’s battle. It has been heartwarming and uplifting having your support. Although she may not have had a chance to say thanks, she appreciated each of your messages just as I did. So I thank you on behalf of both of us. Lots of Love always.”

Miranda, a cherished member of the large Showers family from Camp Hill, was a devoted wife and mother to their three sons, including Dennis Jr, Randall and Russell.

Her passing on such a sacred day serves as a poignant reminder of life, loss, and faith. From TNN and all its staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Mr. Speaker and his family during this time of grief.
