This week, Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, and Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, the Hon. Owen Darrell, JP, MP, welcomed senior executives from Carnival Corporation to Bermuda for strategic discussions aimed at enhancing the cruise line’s presence in Bermuda.
Carnival Corporation’s leadership team, including Marie McKenzie, Vice President of Government & Destination Affairs, and Karin Plettner, Vice President of Ports & Destination Strategy, visited Bermuda to deepen collaboration and enhance visitor experiences across Carnival’s brands.
Building on productive meetings last month at Carnival Corporation’s Miami headquarters, this week’s discussions focused on optimising current operations, developing new itineraries, and improving guest satisfaction. The group also reviewed port capabilities and service efficiencies to ensure Bermuda remains a premier cruise destination.
Minister Darrell commented, “Carnival’s visits have accounted for approximately 30 calls to Bermuda this year, and they have expressed a strong interest in expanding their presence and partnership with the island. We are encouraged by Carnival’s commitment to Bermuda. An increase in cruise visits will deliver meaningful economic benefits and strengthen our tourism industry.”
