Durham police tell ABC11 the driver that hit two Bermudian women in the westbound lane near Page Road will not face charges.
The crash killed 24-year-old Brijette Basden.
She was a Shaw University graduate and a school teacher in Wilson.
She and her sister were traveling to Kernersville when they stopped to switch drivers.
Basden died from her injuries. Her sister is still recovering.
Basden was a teacher at Sallie B. Howard School, who held a candlelight vigil to honor her.
“She was an angel and she was so loved. A beautiful smile and a beautiful person inside and out. That’s why it didn’t take long at all for people to embrace her,” said Joanne Woodard, executive director.
