DAILY MALE INVITE ALL TO FREE COMMUNITY DISCUSSION ON PROSTATE CANCER

All are invited to a free community discussion focussing on prostate cancer, as well as addressing the current state of men’s health in Bermuda, to be hosted by the Daily Male Men’s Health Clinic at Blue Waters Anglers Club tonight (March 23, 2023) starting at 7 pm.

The discussion will feature a panel made up of prostate cancer survivors and leading physicians in the fields of urology and oncology.

Included among the cancer survivors are John Payne, Rhydell Paynter and Norman Pogson, while presenting doctors include Dr Jonathan Makanjuola, one of the founders of Daily Male, along with oncologists Dr Chris Fosker and Dr Michael Hawking.

The community discussion comes on the heels of two successful installments of the free clinic in February and March at the Bermuda Industrial Union and St George’s Cricket Club, which gave free screenings and advanced testing to men 60 years and older, who may have been uninsured or underinsured, and will continue on a monthly basis, as a means of identifying those who may be at increased risk of developing such diseases.

“The community discussion is to further educate the community regarding prostate cancer, especially men, who often place unnecessary barriers when it comes to their health or simply cannot afford to seek professional advice and suffer in silence,” says a spokesperson for Daily Male. “We want to inform that such disclosures are not weakness, but can aid in their longevity and quality of life.

“We also want to address families, friends and the wider community as to the need to encourage and be ‘keepers’ within their communities, which can aid in the lowering of health costs and raising of the overall quality of life among Bermuda’s residents.”

Free refreshments will be available for attendees at the event.

The Daily Male will also be hosting its next pop-up clinic at Somerset Cricket Club on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
