DAGE MINORS BECOMES FIRST BERMUDIAN TO BREAK 4 MINUTE MILE BARRIER

Dage Minors notched another mark in the Island’s distance running record books, when he became the first Bermudian to run a sub under four minutes in the Mile.

Competing indoors at the the 2023 John Thomas Terrier Classic at the Boston University, Minors clocked a time of 3:59.35, to place sixth among the nine finishers in Final 2 of the Men’s Mile, whih gave him an overall placing of 13th in the timed event.

Minors ran in middle of the pack for much of the race, before attempting to surge forward to start the final lap, getting as high as fifth, before settling for a place further back, yet still able to attain what had been an elusive mark.

A two-time winner of the Front Street Mile, Minors entered the competition with a prior personal best of 4:02:09, set while competiting outside last August, during a meet in West Chester, Pennsylvannia.

Likewise, competing in the Mile at the event were Nathan Armstrong and Ryan Outerbridge, with the former able to record a Personal Best time of 4:13.82, while placing 84th , while Outerbridge clocked a time of 4:15.23 that placed him him 92nd.
