TNN’s Trevor Lindsay spoke with a 65-year-olds black man who does not wish to be identified, who recently contracted and has since recovered from the Delta variant of the Coronavirus.
After this experience, he will certainly be getting the vaccine and encourage others, particularly black men, to stop being selfish and get vaccinated for their loved ones.
“ This virus is no joke,” he said. “ I found myself being transported to hospital on the fourth day of this heinous virus, If it was not for the grace of God and my healthy lifestyle as the doctors told me that I would just be another statistic.”
He was never afraid while suffering from the virus, due in large part to his trust in the lord.
He also lost his mom to COVID recently.
“ Some black people particularly men wait too late. When they feel something, they should act upon that gut feeling,” he said. “ From now on, as soon as I have even a little bit of pain, I’m going to the doctor.”
“ I did not support the vaccine at first, but now I’m seriously thinking about it, because I am not going through this again,” he continued.
“ I’m not going to rely on my observations on whether I should or shouldn’t, because we need to stop being selfish and humble ourselves, We as men need to do our research, stay in our bubble and let’s stop playing games.”
