Around 9:45pm on Monday 20th February, Police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a serious collision on South Road, just west of Horseshoe Road Southampton.
Initial information suggests that a 50 year old male on a motorcycle was traveling west along South Road when he was involved in a single vehicle collision. Whilst he was being attended to by several members of the public, a man driving a truck, also headed west, struck the injured male.
The injured male was transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital, where unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries. This marks the third road fatality of 2023.
No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact 211.
