Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 3529 test results, and four were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.1%.
These results are from testing done on:
- Sunday: 0 positive out of 1020 results (0.0% positivity)
- Monday: 2 positive out of 1303 results (0.2% positivity)
- Tuesday: 2 positive out of 1206 results (0.2% positivity)
All four new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.
Additionally, there have been 11 recoveries and 0 deaths since the last update.
There are 24 active cases, and all are under public health monitoring.
Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 5764 confirmed coronavirus cases, out of which 5634 have recovered, and sadly 106 COVID related deaths.
The source of all active cases is as follows:
- 22 are Imported
- 1 is classified as local transmission
- 1 is Under Investigation
Active cases by vaccination status, transmission, and type:
- Imported cases: 95% are fully vaccinated, and 5% are not vaccinated
- Local/Under Investigation cases: 0% are fully vaccinated, and 100% are not vaccinated
- By variant type, 63% are Delta, 8% are Omicron, 21% are unable to be determined, and 8% are not available.

- 721 are Imported
- 5035 are classified as local transmission of which:
o 3079 are Local transmission with known contact/source and
o 1956 are Local transmission with an unknown contact/source
- 8 are Under Investigation

Residents can book a PCR test or a 24 hour antigen test for outbound travel by going to https://bdagovcovid.resqwest.com/web.
Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP, said, “On island COVID antigen testing is available at all community testing sites between 10 am – 12 pmfor anyone who wants a same day antigen test result. For all outbound tests booked after 12 p.m. (noon), then the sample will be treated as a PCR sample, and it cannot be guaranteed that the result will be received within 24 hours.

“As of December 14th, anyone travelling abroad for 72 hours or less can use their pre-departure test obtained in Bermuda, as an arrival test upon return.
