A 34-year-old Southampton man appeared in magistrate’s court yesterday, facing charges of possession of a bladed article at the Zen lounge, and grievous bodily harm unlawfully wounding Milik Cann.
Due to the severity of the charges, the case has been classified as an indictable offense and referred to the Supreme Court for further proceedings.
Ashaun Hassell was not required to enter a plea during the hearing. He was granted bail set at $5,000, with two sureties of $2,500 each. As part of his bail conditions, the accused man must report to the Hamilton Police Station twice weekly, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The next stage in the legal process will take place on December 2, 2024, when the 34-year-old is scheduled to appear before the Supreme Court monthly arraignment.
