A 26-year-old Pembroke man appeared in Magistrate’s Court today charged with three indictable offences involving a girl under the age of 16.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with sexually assaulting the minor and unlawfully taking her from her mother’s custody. He also faces a charge of supplying cannabis to the same girl, who is under the age of 16.
The case was heard before ,Magistrate Auralee Cassidy, Elizabeth Christopher representing the defendant and Mr. Matthew Frick appearing for the prosecution. Magistrate Cassidy remanded the accused into custody his next court-appearance will be at the November Supreme Court arraignments session.
Due to the nature of the charges, neither the accused nor the victim can be identified for legal reasons.
