21-Year-Old American Charged in Fatal Bermuda Motorcycle Crash

A 21-year-old man from New Jersey appeared in Magistrates Court today charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Dockyard.

Evan Weiner was charged with the indictable offense of causing the death of Laquan Thomas while driving an auxiliary cycle on Malabar Road with impaired ability.

The court heard allegations that on Monday, May 18, in Sandy’s Parish, Weiner was operating an auxiliary cycle on Malabar Road when the fatal incident occurred.

As the matter is indictable, Weiner was not required to enter a plea.

The American national was remanded into custody at Westgate Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear during the July 6, 2026 Monthly Arraignment Session of the Supreme Court.
