19 year old man dies in road traffic collision

Around 8:10 this morning, Friday, November 1, 2024, police officers were dispatched to a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a truck and a motorcycle, near the junction of Harrington Sound Road and Lolly’s Well Road, Smith’s.

It was reported the truck driver was exiting the driveway of a nearby residence on Lolly’s Well Road, when the two vehicles became involved in a collision.

Upon arrival, officers were informed the motorcycle rider, a 19-year-old-male, had been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Officers attended the hospital and were informed the male had sustained serious injuries and was undergoing surgery

Sadly, the young man succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
